Los Colorados Formation : ウィキペディア英語版 | Los Colorados Formation
The Los Colorados Formation is a sedimentary rock formation found in La Rioja, Argentina. It has a Norian age (Upper Triassic), and is notable for its fossils of early dinosaurs, including the coelophysoid ''Zupaysaurus'' and the "prosauropods" ''Coloradisaurus'' and ''Riojasaurus''.〔Weishampel, David B; et al (2004). "Dinosaur distribution (Late Triassic, South America)." In: Weishampel, David B.; Dodson, Peter; and Osmólska, Halszka (eds.): The Dinosauria, 2nd, Berkeley: University of California Press. Pp. 527–528. ISBN 0-520-24209-2.〕 Magnetostratigraphic analysis suggests that the Los Colorados Formation was deposited between 227 and 213 million years ago.〔Dennis V. Martínez (2014) Age constraints on the dispersal of dinosaurs in the Late Triassic from magnetochronology of the Los Colorados Formation (Argentina).
